Dr. Anthony Joseph*

Dr. Anthony Joseph

Born in Birmingham, England, 1937 and passed away in February, 2024. Qualified in medicine at Cambridge University in 1961 and worked as a semi-retired General Medical Practitioner. Fascinated by genealogy since childhood, so has had some 60 years involvement in the field. Personal ancestral connections in the United Kingdom since the late 17th century. President of the Jewish Genealogical Society of Great Britain since 1998 and former President of the Jewish Historical Society of England, 1994 -1996. Numerous publications in many genealogical magazines, all focusing on Jewish research and ancestry. Contributing Editor to AVOTAYNU for the UK since its inception. Wife Helene (nee Raymond) has a rich ancestral heritage, mostly in Romania and Lithuania. She was regarded by Dr. Joseph as essential to his genealogical endeavors.
